The Perfect Find In The Knick Of Time: The Knickerbocker Hotel NYC
New York Fashion Week is a time of runway shows galore, designer after parties and a ton street style strutting. If you let it, it will knock the breath right out of you. Thankfully, I was able to find the perfect medium and oasis in the midst of all the chaos and surprisingly it was right in the heart of Times Square. I knew instantly as my heels stepped out of my taxi and a gentleman with with an ivy cap and suspenders opened my door that I had discovered a true gem.
The ambiance of The Knickerbocker hotel was modernly minimalistic. Clean lines and deep rich hues saturated the lobby and continued throughout the building. The first floor lobby housed a concierge desk, a back lobby lounge and a coffee shop that kept me from having to scurry around the corner for the nearest Starbucks. On the fourth floor was a lounge, bar and restaurant area that was perfect for me catching up on work while enjoying a spectacular view. Last but certainly not least was the rooftop bar. Not only does the rooftop view encompass architectural beauty but the layout of the lounge area made it the perfect private get-away for cocktails with friends.
The Knickerbocker NYC was perfectly positioned close to every train and with easy access to hail a cab – this made going from show to show seamless. Not to mention the staff was over accommodating, poised and attentive to my every move. From steaming a dress before I was able to check into my room, to making sure I had an intensely large cappuccino in my hand while I worked on both my blog and work for Essence. The Knickerbocker was truly the calm in this whirlwind better known as Fashion Week.
